Here are five of Bryan Nazor’s top home maintenance to-dos for summer.
Check your detectors
This one should be on your to-do list every season. Give your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors a check to make sure they are functioning correctly. To test your smoke detector, press and hold the “test” button. If the sound it emits is not loud, it’s time to replace the batteries. Check the carbon monoxide detector by holding down the “test” button and listening for two beeps. It only takes a few minutes to make sure your detectors are fully operational and it’s something every homeowner should be on top of, Bryan Nazor said.
Spruce up your yard
Summer is a prime time to make sure your yard is in top shape, Bryan Nazor said. - Once you find the home you would like to purchase, the real estate agent will make an offer on your behalf. A counter offer may be offered in return, and the real estate agent and the home seller will negotiate until they find a price that suits everyone.
